Miscellaneous Thoughts

At this time last year - Nomar Garciaparra was leading the AL in triples with 11. So far this year - Nomar has oly 2 hits total for the Red Sox... Pete Rose may not have had a single season when he was THE best player on his team. Back in Cincinnati he had Bench, Morgan and a couple of monster George Foster seasons to contend with and with the Phillies he had Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton. This probably means nothing – I just found it to be interesting... Keep this in the back of your mind: Mitt Romney will be the Republican Candidate for President in 2008. He has excellent name recognition from his work on the Salt Lake Olympics and he has bases of support in the Rust belt (his dad was Governor of Michigan), the East (he is Governor of Massachusetts) and the West (he owns Utah after saving Salt Lake from humiliation). He also will not have any trouble raising money... Is it me or is Sergio Garcia really starting to look like a young Bruno Kirby (circa Godfather II)?...
