Miscellaneous Thoughts

Some observations while I have my first cup of coffee...

St. Louis is now in first place in the NL Central. They are the only division leader to have a losing record at home (13-15)... I think it would have been pretty easy to pick the Yankees and the Red Sox as having the best records in the AL but who could have picked Kansas City and Seattle to have the two worst?... If Detroit wins the NBA Championship and riots do break out - then will they let Jimmy Kimmel back on the air in Detroit?... Mike Mussina left last night's game in the third inning with a strained groin. I just wanted to let you know that I am struggling mightily not to make a "rub it out" joke... Mike Cameron has never been a particularly good hitter but this year he isn't even hitting his weight (Cameron weighs 200 and his batting average is just .196)... In case you haven't noticed - since being converted to a closer - Jeremy Affeldt has been 7-8 in save situations for Kansas City.... Kevin Brown will probably miss his next start for the Yankees and be replaced by the pride of Worcester - Tanyon Sturtze who was a few years behind me in high school... Do you think a cartoon strip about a wife-beating drunk like Andy Capp would ever make it into the papers today?... The Olsen Twins turn 18 tomorrow... If the season ended today then Jorge Posada of the Yankees just might be the AL MVP...
