Anthony Fauci - Liar and Puppy Murderer

Glenn Greenwald on how to protect Fauci, the Washington Post is preparing a hit piece on the group denouncing gruesome dog experimentations. 

Fauci should be facing perjury charges for lying to Congress under oath about funding "gain of function" at the Wuhan lab. He should also be made to answer publicly why he thought spending taxpayer money on torturing puppies was a "good" idea. The man disgusts me. 

And remember if you subscribe to the Washington Post you are supporting those who defend torturing Beagle puppies.

- The Washington Post used to be upheld as one of the examples of journalism at its best. Now they are an agenda driven bunch of hacks which their treatment of Clay Travis is just the latest example of. They've completely thrown away their integrity and for what?

The War in Afghanistan

Conflicted over my view on the War in Afghanistan. I support the troops but I'm not sure if I support the War anymore. This report by the Washington Post seems to make it clear that the Generals and the civilians overseeing the war have not been exactly truthful with the American public.

Read the whole thing.

Parallels between Afghanistan and Vietnam are not exactly hard to draw. The Post even calls their report The Afghanistan Papers to echo the historic Pentagon Papers from the Vietnam War (not exactly subtle). You can't help but wonder if the War in Afghanistan was being fought with draftees instead of volunteers if we'd still even be there?

Like I said - not sure what to think. Only sure of one thing - I support the troops.

Trump's Tweets

Interesting look at President Trump's international and diplomatic messaging and their effectiveness.  I've long just assumed that some of his statements and Tweets that may seem strange or off to us Americans are actually aimed at specific international audiences.

Take the Tweet of Trump as Rocky. The timing of a seemingly out of nowhere Photoshop seemed strange to the US audience. But in hindsight the Rocky Tweet coming at the same time as him signing the Hong Kong sanctions law was clearly a message to both China and the people of Hong Kong. And it seems that the protesters in Hong Kong got the message loud and clear.

The same cannot be said of the people at the Washington Post.

This Week in Musk World

USA! USA! USA! The Model 3 was the best selling luxury car or SUV in the US - "the first time in decades an American carmaker has been able to secure the top spot." As the article points out - this may be an indictment of Cadillac and Lincoln more than anything. Not to take anything away from Tesla though because the Model 3 was also ranked by Consumer Reports as the Number 1 Car in Owner Satisfaction. USA! USA! USA!

Tesla cars have been shown to be robust when it comes to handling wear and tear with minimal maintenance costs.

According to Elon Musk the Model Y is up next but close behind is going to be the Tesla pickup truck. It supposedly looks like a smaller Tesla Semi but one cool feature I think is the plug in port(s) for electric hand tools. That could be a killer app for workmen.

One Tesla story I think has been underplayed is the demand for Tesla vehicles in Europe. A demand that is only now being met.

It is interesting to look at some of the negative "news" about Tesla and wonder who is sponsoring this stuff? Like the Washington Post's profile of Elon Musk's use of a private plane. Is there going to be a follow-up article in the Post on Jeff Bezos' use of private jets? If not then I'm going to chalk this up to the Bezos owned Washington Post taking a collateral damage swipe at Blue Origins (another Bezos company) biggest competition SpaceX and their primary owner in Musk. And people wonder why nobody trusts the media.

The article is another example. Tesla had 83% market share of all EV's sold in the US but Tesla's fourth quarter earnings were deemed "relatively disappointing" because they missed some analysts estimates. What did those analysts want? 100% of the EV market?

In other Musk World news - SpaceX is getting closer to a manned mission to the International Space Station.

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Has to be asked - how long before we see one of those Hitler in the bunker videos about Charlottesville?... Heh heh... Had my first Pumpkin Spice beer over the weekend. I know it's still summer and not close to fall yet but I couldn't resist... The word "overmorrow" means the day after tomorrow. What a great word! How come we never use the word overmorrow?... Heh heh... Lobster Cooch would be a good name for a B-52's cover band or a hipster seafood dish... Just a reminder - Dr. Jane Goodall believes in Bigfoot... If they do a Batman re-boot - I hope they cast Christian Bale as a villain. How cool and meta trippy would that be?... Meanwhile the Washington Post is destroying their credibility in sports too... Strip Club Chowder would be a good name for a band (or a porn movie)... Still disappointed that when Burger King and Tim Horton's merged they didn't change the name of all the franchises to Burger Horton's...

When Did the Washington Post Hire Emily Littella as Ombudsman?

"I'll see your two Oreos and raise you three Doublestuff."

If the above sentence makes no sense to you - then you haven't read Deborah Howell's Washington Post Ombudsman column this week.

In the column Howell addresses the pressing issue of sportswriters engaging in a low dollar betting pool at Augusta during coverage of the Masters. Que Captain Renault, "I'm shocked - shocked that sportswriters have pools for fun amongst themselves!" In her last line of the column she suggests "Maybe the Masters bets next year should be in Oreos, not cash." Que Will Hunting, "Great, or maybe they could wager a bunch of caramels instead because if you think about it, they're just as arbitrary as betting Oreos."

Now in the above paragraph I quoted two fictional characters and one real person and I take it as a sad commentary on the state of the Washington Post that the imaginary people have a better grasp on reality then Ombudsperson at the Washington Post.
