Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Serious question - if the Democrats use the 25th Amendment on the basis of President Biden being non compos mentis to make Kamala Harris the President - would that invalidate all of Biden's Executive Orders? Some of them? Need a ruling on this... Very cool... Would 100% support any baseball writer who submits a blank Hall of Fame ballot permanently losing their voting rights... Re-watched Charlie Wilson's War and it holds up pretty well which should not be surprising since it stars Tom Hanks and Phillip Seymour-Hoffman, and was directed by Mike Nichols with the screenplay by Aaron Sorkin. This was the last movie Mike Nichols directed before he passed... Every pitcher with 3,000 or more strikeouts who is eligible has been elected to the Hall of Fame except Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling. Clemens is being kept out because of steroids but there's no valid reason to keep Schilling out - and no because you don't like his politics is not a valid reason...
The tensile strength of spider silk is incredibly high. I think it was or is used in optical crosshairs as well.
ReplyDeleteAmazing
The case for Schilling is even stronger - he only had 216 or so wins, which means he got 300 strikeouts without a lot of backing from his team's offense.
ReplyDeleteA president leaving office has no impact on his executive orders. Having said that, some executive orders could face being invalidated by legal challenge. POTUS should NOT use an EO to do an end around the legislative branch. EOs should primarily be used to give guidance to federal agencies about how to implement existing laws.
ReplyDeleteBorepatch - Schilling has a much better case than Mike Mussina who was voted in by these same writers.
ReplyDeleteLargeBill - I was wondering more along the lines of if Biden is found to be not competent would that invalidate any of his EO's. If he was not in his right mind when he signs something is it still a legal document? Would they have to go back through them and figure when he "lost it."
Libertyman - spiders are incredible creatures
ReplyDeleteThe main Cubs forum I visit is Bleacher Nation, which is celebrating what a bad person Schilling is, and how that disqualifies him from the HoF. For the last couple of years the comment section has been a bastion of wokeness. It's so tiresome.
