Red Sox / Yankees

Some miscellaneous thoughts now that the Red Sox / Yankees season series are done:

- Yankee fans probably hate seeing Manny Ramirez, Trot Nixon or Jason Varitek come up to bat in key situations. For Red Sox fans - it is always Hideki Matsui, Jorge Posada and Derek Jeter who seem to come up big.

- The Red Sox don't fear Mariona Rivera anymore. This takes away a key advantage for the Yankees.

- I really don't like (and I think most Sox fans would agree) either Kevin Brown or Kenny Lofton. Not sure if the Yankee fans have any Red Sox players they really don't like - maybe Pedro and Kevin Millar?

- With both teams making the playoffs - I'm not sure which is more important: the Yankees winning the AL East or the Red Sox winning the season series 11-8.
