Miscellaneous Thoughts

Heh heh - US troops out of Europe. I thought they wanted us to leave?... Yesterday I mentioned how the shutout is becoming a thing of the past. Exhibit A would have to be yesterday's outing by Barry Zito who went 8 innings and gave up no runs but was lifted before the 9th (maybe because he threw 106 pitches). The pitch count didn't seem too high. Why was he lifted? A complete game shutout used to be a thing of pride. What happened?... Najaf - the Woodstock of Iraq?... I feel bad for Jamie Moyer. He is only 5 wins behind Randy Johnson for the all-time record for a Mariner pitcher. It looked like he would get the record this season - easily. But now 5 wins looks like it will have to wait for next season... Mark Steyn on the Hollywood influence on the Democratic Party. Always a good read... As far as I'm concerned - last night's Patriots preseason loss to Cincinnati never happened... Happy 65th birthday to Captain Carl Yastrzemski...
