Reality TV Turns 56

On this day in 1948 CBS debuted Alan Funt's Candid Camera (actually called Candid Microphone its first season). People-watching and practical jokes melded into one. Watching regular folks in stange situations isn't exactly a new TV creation - the only difference is now the regular folks know that they are on camera.
