Poor Greg Maddux

Greg Maddux goes for his 300th win today in Chicago against the Phillies but he will be overshadowed by the acquisition of Nomar Garciaparra yesterday and Nomar's first day in a Cubs uniform today. I know you won't hear any complain out of Maddux - he is much too low key for that. However, you do have to feel bad for a guy who is about to reach a singular accomplishment (only 21 players have reached 300 wins in history) - just to have it become a sidebar to the day's activities.
