When did Gary Payton lose the nickname “the Glove”? I never hear anyone call him that anymore. I didn’t know it was possible to have a nickname taken away. Ted Williams was still “the Kid” and “the Splendid Splinter” even when he old and heavier. When did Gary Payton stop being “the Glove’?
